Lichterfest

Last saturday we had tickets for the "Lichterfest" (lightfestival) at the Schlosspark in Schwetzingen. All of us went there and we had a lot of fun. There were lampions everywhere, good music, lovely food and lots of people enjoying their time.

Lampions where ever we went. It was such a beautiful sight by the time it got dark.

We brought Malte in a special baby back sack. Not only because we wanted to test how he would do in that thing, also because while sitting in the buggy he only would have seen legs and legs and legs....

Lotte and Hilde queuing for some face painting.

Remco and Malte watching a clown show while the girls are queuing.
Guess how long we queued?
1 and 1/2 hours. The most fascinating about it? The girls did not complain, nor fight, neither got fuzzy. They just were queuing for something that needed to be off their faces before getting to bed 3 hours later!

Hilde ended up being a beautiful flower girl.

And Lotte decided that she wanted to become a beautiful butterfly. I would say: the lady did a great job as both of the girls looked really gorgeous.

Butterfly meets flowers.

Malte took a very short time out. He woke up right before the fireworks started. It was a really swelling one I can tell you.

Happy 5th birthday, Hilde!

This week wednesday was Hildes big day. She was very excited to turn 5. That might have been the reason why she got up at 6.10 hours which we didn´t like at all!

As always, flowers for the birthday girl!

Even though she does not really look happy, I can tell you that she had a very happy birthday.

Malte, checking out all of Hildes presents.

Having fun times together. Watch the picture carefully and you get to know the girls favorite colors! I will post their bouncy balls another time.

We are back from Holland...

... to be honest, already quite a while ago. I just took a few "blog off" days, too. But here we go again.

Here we go for a small photo impression:

Flags at the beach of Scheveningen.

Lotte loved the time at the beach and in the sea - the water was actually quite chilly.

Hilde searching for shells - we have a bunch of them now.

Malte wasn´t interested in the shell-searching-activity!

After the kids had finished their pool session, Malte was gone. He had decided to get back in againg all dressed! Having water around you really have to watch him!

Uncle Niels and Lotte. Mariska was there, too but somehow she didn´t make it on any photo.

We also visited our friends - the Van der Haas family. Isabella and Hilde.

Snow White Hilde.

Daniel and Malte. They had enough balls to play with.

Vivian, taking care of the lovely dinner we had.

Sage with garlic in olive oil. Yummie!

Some fruit.

Angela and Lotte.

At the playground.

Together on the seesaw.

Grandma Trees joined us to the playground.

Grandpa walking with Malte.

Remco and I enjoyed a weekend without the kids in Maastricht. We loved the time together. André Rieu was in town (actually his home town), too, for 5 evening concerts. Everywhere were big screens to watch the concerts. No chance to leave this city that weekend without getting to know that André Rieu has been there.

On sunday we had a walk together before my in laws brought the kids to Maastricht. They had tickets for the evening concert of André Rieu.

One thing is for sure:

There need to be more weekends without taking the kids even though that we love them from the bottom of our hearts.

Not unimportant: I left Malte on friday at my in-laws non-walking and we got him back on sunday walking.
