Another warm & sunny weekend

Last weekend we had friends over from Holland. The four of them arrived Saturday at lunch time. Four means: John, Marianne, their son Quinten and their dog Sprinter. Sprinter was by the way our first sleep over dog ever and the girls loved it.

Couch-patato Sprinter

On Saturday we headed to Speyer where we walked the city and had an ice cream. We had a great day and enjoyed our first asparagus for dinner after the kids went to bed. Good times outside almost until noon.
Ice cream in Speyer

Quinten really liked Hildes pink hat.

The day after we walked to Schwetzingen; the city we show every visitor. We had a lovely breakfast at the Gelateria and the kids enjoyed their time at the playground over there. Before we headed off for the Schlossgarten the kids got another ice cream. Before entering the garden there is already the little market place selling asparagus and strawberries. One of the sellers told me that the asparagus time will end by the end of June. So, lots more weeks to enjoy this special vegetables.
We walked the Schlossgarten for quite a while and went back home by the time the kids got tired. Quinten was about having his nap in the car and so they left quite early, something our kids didn´t like at all. Hilde was sad that Quinten was leaving and Lotte was again unemployed as they took Sprinter back to Holland, too. I think she was the only one who walked with Sprinter on his leash ….

This looks really yummie....

... and what about this?

See the lilac infront of the castle? (Yes, this is a lilac Kristin!)

Another lilac infront of the castle. Don´t miss Hilde. She´s in the picture, too.

Malte 11 months old

One more months to go for his first candle on the cake! Time flies ....
.... when you are really busy!

These days Malte is looking for some challenges. One of his favorites is getting outside to the backyard and if you are done with that part ....

you start working on how to get back into the house again.

4 days of holiday in Oberjoch

In Oberjoch we were overwhelemed when we saw how much snow still is left. Lots op people went skiing but it was already wet and heavy snow in the mornings. I think I could have skied in T-Shirt and Shorts, it was really hot!

Oberjoch, highest Ski- and mountain village of Germany (never known!). Underneath the sign in the back you can see the hotel we stayed. It was called Alpenhotel Oberjoch, known as a Familotel, a hotel specialized in hosting families.

As you can see, there was still some snow.... I´ve never seen that much snow while wearing sandals because of the temperatures!

My guys enjoying the scenery!

Tigerente. For those who don´t know Tigerente, it is a caracter of Janosch. Janosch is a really well known writer over here and I am sure that Maltes dutch aunt Mariska would have loved to push him in this buggy. She loves Tigerente!

After some days of holiday I am really looking forward to get on a schedule again. Curious how everybody will get out of bed early tomorrow morning.

Easter Monday - Langenargen, Lake of Constance

Langenargen, a really beautiful city at the Lake of Constance. We went there for lunch with my parents on Easter Monday.

Schloss Montfort in Langenargen

Langenargen is only comparable with the most beautiful view at Genoa and Naples. Annette Droste-Hülshoff, famous German writer and poet
Love this picutre of a sail boat on the lake. Just zoom it!

Flowers, everywhere lovely spring flowers in blossom.

Remco and the girls. Where Malte is? Couldn´t get him on the picture as he was having his nap!

Little girls, little girls, what do you see? We see lots of water, that´s what we see!

Family picture.

Easter Sunday - Egg hung & Lake of Constance

This year it was Maltes first Easter egg hunt and as you can see he was quite succesful. He was the one who found his Easter basket first.

He got a lovely soft and cuddly little Steiff bunny ...

... as well as a new jacket and a cookie (no chocolate eggs for Malte this year).

The cookie was most important, therefore his pacifier ended up in the Easter basket.

Hilde was second in finding a Easter basket - actually I need to mention that she found Lottes....

so she went ahead and Lotte had to help her. Finally they found everything and everybody was really pleased with their presents.

As it was a really beautiful day we decided to go to the Lake of Constance in the afternoon.
We had a lovely time over there and had some "Kaffee mit Kuchen".

If you have a close look at the picture you will see a ferry as well as a Zeppelin. At Lake of Constance it was kind of hazy and therefore quite hard to get some really good pictures.

Lotte and Hilde throwing stones into the Lake.

There it is, the Zeppelin. Lotte and Hilde would love to have a trip over the Lake with the Zeppelin as Remco always tells them that I have been on a trip around the Lake long, long, very long time ago (I hardly can remeber).

Happy Easter!

On Thursday afternoons the girls are signed up for "after school activities". Something they really enjoy. Lotte is having "Ballschule" and Hilde is joining "Kids Club".
This week Kids club was doing some Easter crafts. Hilde loved it and I thought she did a great job. By the time she opened the card she had made I was totally flabbergasted. I knew she could write her own name but I didn´t know that she could write other letters as perfect as she did.

By the way: Not to bother but again a sunny, cloudless day over here. Ready to leave, have a great Easter weekend!
