Hot, hotter, hottest!

As it was a little bit cloudy this morning we decided to spend some time at Luisenpark in Mannheim. We just had arrived when it cleared up and the sun came trough. We went for a walk in the beautiful and big park but to be honest, Luisenpark isn´t the best place to be when it is becoming really hot.
After a long walk we ended up at a big playground and the Minicars. The girls wanted to go on the Minicars and uncle Niels couldn´t stand Malte sitting in his buggy while the girls were having lots of fun. So he took Malte for a ride and both loved it!

After three turns, an ice cream and lots of time at the playground we decided to walk back and better go home.

We set up the smallest pool for little Malte and we were kind of surprised when we saw that he almost fills up the whole pool!

He spend lots of time in the pool as everybody helped to entertain him.

Uncle Niels with his favorite toy. I can assure you that the girls didn´t like it at all. Lotte explained to Niels that she didn´t liked it because Niels used cold water and she got wet. Really?!

This is what a happy little boy looks like.
Temperature right now, 17.26 hours: 30,6 degrees (shadow).

All the three have been 1 once!

Just to give you the chance to have a look how the three looked when they turned one. To be honest I can hardly remember Lottes first birthday but that one was celebrated in Bad Soden near Frankfurt a/M. Hildes first birthday we celebrated in our house in Rotterdam and now being back in good old Germany we yesterday celebrated Maltes first birthday.
Loved to check the old pictures!

Malte, 20.05.2009
Hilde, 15.07.2005 - Lotte being almost 3

Lotte, 20.08.2003 - yes, those days we had some issues on mosquitos.

Happy 1st birthday!

The girls hardly could wait for Maltes first birthday to come. Today though was the big day. They loved Malte having his birthday as they were allowed to unwrap most of the presents. Malte seemed more interested in cake, balloons and wrapping paper.

We had a very special sparkling number 1 on his cake!

He loved watching it but it didn´t last long enough.

He loved the balloons and garlands!

For breakfast Malte enjoyed a piece of his cake - the girls did, too.

His new birthday shirt saying lucky devil.

I just want to share some of Maltes lovely presents with you. He got some new animal building blocks ...

... and he really was busy with them.

He got a new jigsaw and he loves to empty it - undoing is no issue though. Now we have to work on the fixing of the jigsaw part.

The girls love to be read to and Lotte enjoys reading on her own, too. To get Malte to read some more we got a book to be fixed at his buggy - a so called buggy-book. Lotte and Hilde both had a buggy book. Why we don´t use them anymore? While having long walks the girls started biting on them and both of the books are kind of gone....

Ever seen such a happy cow? The other animals are for sure very cute, too.

I am very sure that this T-Shirt will cause trouble. Having two kids will always mean: nobody did it and if somebody did it, it makes the other one having it done. Got it? Now I thought, if Lotte and Hilde would not have done it, it will be Malte. Logical. But this T-Shirt actually saves Malte not only because it is beautiful dutchie orange, no, it says: whatever it is, it wasn´t me! But who was it then?

Since we have a boy, our car pool grows slowly but steadily. The little two cars in front of the picture are new. The others we already had. I bought both of the cars and because I couln´t find a black, red, gold striped one I chose the dutch orange one.

And just because I have the feeling that he will get lots more cars (not only wooden ones) I also bought a special HABA car bag. When I saw that one I just had to have it. If Malte doesn´t want to use it, I will.

I could get almost all the HABA stuff ...

Too cute!

And then my two best friends gave presents to make sure that Malte will stay fashioned. I am sure that they don´t have each others email addres so it must have been telepathy. I would have loved meeting with both of you and I especially want to thank you for the lovely presents. Tomorrow morning I will dress him up. So stay tuned.

There always need to be flowers for a birthday and because he is a boy, there were blue ones today.
I want to thank everybody for thinking of Malte and our family on this very special day. I want to thank you for all emails, phone calls and presents Malte got today (even though I did not show them all on the blog). Warmest wished, good luck and health to everybody.

Family Van den Bosch

Over the weekend we had our friends from The Netherlands visiting us. We had a great time togehehr, talked about old and new things and even the wheather was helping a hand to make the weekend very special.

On Thursday we made a trip to Globus. A very big grocery store where we expected to get a lot of things you can´t get in a "normal" German store but we were not really successful. Anyway, the store was big and we did a lot of "normal" shopping.
Missing anything?
Wednesday night, the day Moniek, Tim and Bette came, was quite exciting. Lotte had a big issue on her first wiggling front tooth. It was kind of alsmost falling out but then also kind of not
In the end Remco suggested to turn the tooth around and around so that it would come out but that wasn´t successful either. In the end Remco pulled it out as I couldn´t stand to look at it or touch it.
Lots of picutres were taken of the big "hole".

Being served by his Godmother.

What we had for dinner on Saturday?

BBQ!

Maltes new favorite spot. In the sandbox! He can get in and out on his own and that is quite a challenge!

The kids got lovely presents and I want to share Maltes supersized soccer ball with you.
See how proud he is?

A big hug for a big ball!

And than Mothersday today. It has been long time ago that I have been spoiled as much as today. We (Moniek and I) did not expect any presents.

Always hiding somewhere but someday I will get a picture!

A tradition. Before we seperate we always take a picutre of at least the kids. This one could be titled: What´s wrong Malte?

But here we go. Finally I got quite a good shot. Probably Moniek even has a better one. Check her blog!
